UGANDA!

Tomorrow.

I leave tomorrow for Uganda.

People keep asking me if I'm excited. Of course, I respond with "YES!" and a huge smile.
People keep asking me if I'm ready. Once again, I respond with "Yeah"

I don't think it will be real until I'm sitting on the plane, en route to Africa. Gosh, I'm flying to Africa tomorrow. :)

For those of you who don't know I'm going with a ministry called Unchanging Truth. They are a brand new organization, but have formed a relationship with a local church in Uganda through past trips. We will be putting on a conference for the local pastors and women of the village of Kakira. I will be going as a photographer as well as a helper in the women's conference. Women like Jodi Plum, and Susan Harrell will be speaking, with the help of interpreters, about women in the bible and about the power of the tongue. There will be discussion groups after which I will also be helping to facilitate.
I'm the youngest of the group, which is so incredible, but also kinda scary. I have felt a lack of purpose in the gearing up for the trip. I know that Satan was trying to discourage me from thinking that I could make a difference with these women because of my age. But I know for a fact that God is going to use me. That has been my prayer that God would USE me. Kinda scary, knowing that He will use me, but I don't know what for.
I hope that He uses me in a radical way. I hope that I'm changed. I hope that I honor and glorify Him. I pray to be used.

Here are some things that you can be praying for:

Health. I am concerned about my health while I'm there. The plane ride will be horrendously long and that will affect me a lot. I know it will be a lot of work, but I know I can find my strength in Jesus. Dealing with fibromyalgia and other pain diseases overseas. I have new medication that I'm taking which sometimes helps, but it also makes me drowsy and not as bubbly in my personality. SO Obviously, health is a big one for me. :)

Safety. Pray for safe travels. Especially with the volcanic activity that's been going on.

Revival. Pray that God will be preparing the hearts of the women we will encounter. The men that will be under the teaching of our team. The hotel staff. People we meet on the plane.

Courage and Opportunity. God will move in the country of Uganda whether He uses us or other people that go. But pray that we will have the opportunities to be used by God to speak into these people's lives, and give us the courage when the opportunities come up.

Families. Pray for safety and peace with the families that we are leaving behind to go on this mission.

Pray that God will be revealed in new ways. Pray that God will move in the hearts of the Ugandans and the Americans.

Thank you so much for your prayers! I'll be updating the blog as often as I can. Feel free to check back as often as you prefer. Know that I appreciate your partnering with me on this trip. Your prayers are felt as they have the power to do miracles and move mountains. Thanks again! I'll see you face to face on May 6th, but I'll keep you informed until then! :)
